The Langkawi Cable Car

The Langkawi Cable Car is one of the famous tourist attractions in Langkawi Island. It is located at the Oriental Village. We have no luck to ride on this cable car during our previous visits. It was either the maintenance closure or closed due to bad weather that made us no chance to ride the cable car.

This time we were able to take the cable car ride to the top of Mount Mat Chincang.

At the base station.

Here we started our daring cable car ride :)
Here are some of the breathtaking pictures that taken when from the cable car :

Then we reached the middle station. We enjoyed the panoramic view of the main island as well as the many surrounding islands. But that is not enough... We continued our cable car ride and proceeded to the top station.

A picture taken at the middle station.

We need to walk down a flight of stairs rather far one before we could reach the skybridge.

It was great to be able to stand in the middle of the sky.
The view is really magnificent!

Paragliding at Pantai Cenang, Langkawi

Paragliding is one of the popular attractions at Cenang Beach. When we were in Cenang beach, we were distracted by the paragliding activity along the beach. Before this paraglider could landed on the beach and at the other side another paraglider is ready to fly. But they are certainly made the beach more lively and beautiful.

Make sure you are fine to fly above the sea before you commit for this sport!

If you are afraid to fly alone you can always try it with your partner or friends.

Pantai Cenang is a very happening beach.

The colorful paraglider.

Teddy Bear Museum @ N Seoul Tower

The Teddy Bear Museum N Seoul Tower shows exhibits that chronicle the history history of Seoul from past to present through the use of teddy bears. It is an amusing and innovative way for visitors to see how Seoul has changed and developed over time both as the capital of Korea and as an international city. Teddy bears are posed in scenes recreating historic events as well as various aspects of Seoul life.

The entrance.

The kids would love this museum.

Behind the Changdeokgung Palace lies the 78-acre (32 ha) Huwon (後苑, Rear garden) which was originally constructed for the use of the royal family and palace women. The garden incorporates a lotus pond, pavilions, and landscaped lawns, trees, and flowers. The surroundings and the palace itself are well matched. There are over 26,000 specimens of a hundred different species of trees in the garden and some of the trees behind the palace are now over 300 years old. the garden that was extremely private space for the king had been called 'Geumwon'(禁苑, Forbidden garden) because even high officials could not dare to come in without king's permission. Also it had been called 'Naewon'(內苑, 'Inner garden'). Today Koreans often call it 'Biwon'(秘院, Secret garden) which derived from the office of same name in the late 19C. Though the garden had many another names, the name most frequently used through Joseon dynasty period was 'Huwon'.

A variety of ceremonies host by the king were held in Huwon. In early period of Joseon dynasty, military inspections participated with king himself had been practiced many times. King Sejo had troops parade and array before him or commanded them by himself in the garden. In addition, giving feasts, playing archery games, or enjoy fireworks in Huwon.

The Ongnyucheon ("Jade Stream") area is of particular interest. It contains a U-shaped water channel carved in 1636 for floating wine cups, with a small waterfall and an inscribed poem on the boulder above it. The area also contains five small pavilions.

Here are some of the pictures of Huwon ( The Secret Garden) I took during my recent visit to the palace.
